Our Promise
A premier, inclusive and fun ownership experience for anyone who wishes to be involved with racing. For only £25 a month - or just £275 annually - Club membership is cheaper than your weekly shop and a great purchase for any racing lover!Â
We'll get you to the races
Our main ambition as a club is to get racing lovers to the races - partaking in the full ownership experience. As such, every member of the club will have the opportunity to attain owners badges on race days. These badges often include - but are not limited to - a free meal on race days, access to the owners & trainers area, and the paddock.
Most importantly, if you are lucky enough to have a badge when a Club horse wins, many tracks offer champagne!
WELFARE
Welfare is central to our club. Happy horses run better, and as such we provide our horses with 5* care. Top class facilities, with a training program that focuses on performance & longevity. If a horse retires whilst owned by the racing club, we will ensure they reicieve an appropriate 2nd home.Â
BE INVOLVED
At For the Present Racing we all our members have a personal experience, & to feel involved with our horses and yard. Club members will receive:

- A weekly newsletter
- Bi-annual yard visit
- Opportunity to name our horsesÂ
- An invite to a Club Members Whatsapp group.Â
Our namesake
Our namesake was a bay gelding born 1990.
He was purchased as a yearling, with the aim to provide his owners with a bit of fun, take them to the races and win in his turn.Â
He began his career off a mark of 70, and from a cheap yearling, he became a yard flag bearer.Â
As a four year old he won the Stewards Cup, clocking the second fastest time ever recorded.Â
. A horse, who began his career in a class 6 maiden, won one of the most prolific handicaps in the country.
OUR TRAINER
David & Nicola Barron have trained over 1500 winners -Â from sharp sprinting two year old's, to older, staying horses. Over the last decades they have been successful in a number of notable handicaps and stakes races including; the Zetland Gold Cup, the two year old Trophy, the Palace of Holyrood House, the John Smiths Cup, the Ayr Gold Cup, the Temple Stakes, the Nunthorpe and the Stewards Cup.Â
"A shrewd operator with a no nonsense attitude to his horses, David Barron season after season gets the best out of his team that they have to offer."
